What is the best Vitamin C for the face? Look years younger!
In our never-ending quest for youth, we try creams and lotions to make ourselves look younger. One of the most overlooked options for youthful beauty is Vitamin C. Taken internally and applied topically, it can radically change your appearance to a more youthful, soft appearance, brighter eyes, and more pep to your step.
I am going to educate you on the benefits of this one amazing vitamin and how you can get the very best in both supplements and in facial creams.
You can go out and buy the top of the line, most expensive face creams out there, but in many cases, you are going to be left with disappointment. Why? It’s because they don’t contain the actual ingredients (the nourishment) that your body needs to repair your skin and keep it youthful.

What is the best Vitamin C for the face? Let’s dig in!
What are the benefits of Vitamin C?
Why do I recommend Vitamin C for your wrinkles, dull skin, circles and bags? It’s because Vitamin C is necessary for so many parts of your body, and your face and beauty are no exception. Take a look at all this amazing vitamin provides, both in supplement form and in topical serum form!
Benefits of Vitamin C Consumption
- Protects against skin wrinkling due to aging by providing collagen production and maintenance.
- Vitamin C is a very powerful antioxidant which neutralizes free radicals in the skin
- Helps to treat and to prevent ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage
- Helps with high blood pressure
- Helps you to absorb your iron better
- Promotes a healthy heart
I could continue to list the benefits, because they do go on and on, but I believe you get the picture. Vitamin C is a critical, necessary vitamin you must have, and most people do not get enough of this pearl in their regular diet! I am a firm believer in supplementing your diet with high-quality supplements (and the word supplement is important, because you always want to try to get the bulk of your vitamins from a good diet!)
Benefits of Vitamin C Serums
- Boosts collagen products which helps to fill in lines and wrinkles for a smooth surface on your skin
- Provides both instant and long-term results
- Helps to tighten the skin
- Fights free radicals and the damage they cause
- Brightens the skin
Vitamin C and your diet
I promote the use of supplements, but I believe firmly that the bulk of your vitamins should come from your diet. I realize that fresh fruits and vegetables can be expensive and time-consuming, but they are ever-so-important for the new youthful you!
You need to consume foods that contain Vitamin C in their natural state on a regular basis. It’s not that hard to do.
Here are just a few fruits and vegetables that you can easily incorporate into your diet that contain high amounts of precious Vitamin C:
Spinach, turnip greens, kale, dandelion greens, and other leafy greens (my personal favorites) – I cut them up and put them into all my soups, stews, pasta dishes, eggs, whatever I can. They are absolutely delicious and provide so many benefits to your body. They are delicious in salad too, of course!
Peppers, both red and green! I love them chopped and cooked into my sauces, and I eat them raw with a little dressing. Crunch crunch crunch, yummy!
Cauliflower and broccoli, along with cabbage and Brussels sprouts! My granddaughter loves cauliflower and broccoli (trees) cut for dipping in ranch dressing. Now, ranch should be consumed in limited quantities, but I feel that if I’m getting her to eat and enjoy these delicious treats, then a little ranch won’t hurt. Cabbage and Brussels aren’t for everyone, but if you cut them and cook them into your soups and stews, you hardly know they’re there. I, personally, enjoy them with butter and vinegar (the French in me), but however you eat them, get them in!
Tomatoes! These are so easy. Drink some juice, eat some sauce, or eat them raw in a salad. Tomatoes have so many uses and are easy to incorporate into your diet on a regular basis.
Winter Squash – Oooh, one of my favorite foods. I love to bake squash with a little butter and a dab of sweet. You do want to avoid sugar, and I eat my squash with just butter sometimes, but for a holiday or special dinner, I add a dab of real maple syrup. Experiment!
Citrus fruits, such as oranges, clementines and tangerines. These speak for themselves. If you want your kids to get Vitamin C, the Clementines are so easy to peel and eat, they love doing it by themselves!
Kakadu plums (also known as Gubinge, Billy goat Plum or Murunga) might be hard to find, but this fruit is loaded with Vitamin C! You can buy a Kakadu plum powder on Amazon (click on the Amazon link on the sidebar and search for Kakadu Plum Powder or you can go to the article I’ve put a link to just below here which has a link to the product as well). You can’t go wrong with this one!
Which Vitamin C supplements are best
I have written several articles on supplements, but this one here does provide a link to the very best Vitamin C supplements that I have found. There is the Vitamin C powder called Amazing Oranges Powder 30 day supply Power Packed w/Vitamin C, and it really is amazing!!! There is also the Natures Highest Vitamin C Superfood – Wild Harvested Australian Kakadu Plum Powder which is that Kakadu Plum I mentioned above. Either one of these is a great choice!
If you would like to check them out, you can view the article here, and the links to these products are included in this article here:

Which Vitamin C Serum is best
Here I go again with the Kakadu Plum, but you have to understand that the Kakadu Plum, which is primarily grown in Australia, has 100% more Vitamin C than citrus fruit. That’s pretty impressive. It’s no wonder that the Nutra Nuva serum is a miracle serum for the face!
The secret is that the molecules in this serum are smaller, allowing much deeper penetration of the epidermis and dermis (skin) providing nourishing and repairing benefits.
I have an article I wrote, and in that article is a link to this amazing product. You can read the article and grab the link to the product right here:

Conclusion
Whatever steps you take, whichever products you decide to try, you are going to benefit greatly. The point is, TAKE A STEP! I highly recommend you incorporate some of the great foods into your diet. This should really be your first step. Proper nutrition is going to give you that Fountain of Youth lifestyle you’re craving, and your face and skin will glow with youthfulness!
I applaud you reading this article and wanting to improve your life. Good luck!

Babs,
I am blown away this was something I have been unaware of all these years, I have always know Vitamin C was good for our immune system but had no clue that it would help with wrinkles. In the winter months where I live this is one thing that I would always increase my intake of was Vitamin C in my diet for the health benefits. Now finding your article this is something that I will add to my diet on a regular basis all year round. Thank you for the wonderful research you put into finding this information.
Susan
Hi Babs – I must say, I didn’t realise that Vitamin C was good for skin, heart or blood pressure. As a child, my mother used to give us a vitamin C tablet every morning with our breakfast. This was to keep us from getting colds and keeing our immune systems up – I think so that we would always go to school and not stay home driving her crazy.
At first sign of a sniffle my grandmother – Not my mum’s mum – used to ram orange juice down our throats. Oh, and it also keeps away scurvey apparently but I was unaware of these orher benefits. I admit that Vitamin C is not one that we take daily but I will certainly start now. Thanks for a very informative article.

You’re welcome, Paul. Glad to help! – Babs
I started using vitamin C serum about 6 months ago after reading about how great it was for your skin. I’ve tried two different kinds and need to pick up a third bottle. I will check out the one you recommend. I wish I had thought to take before pics because I don’t feel like I notice much change…but I also know change is gradual and if I didn’t document any of it, it would be very hard to gauge. Anyway, I tried 2 pretty cheap kinds. I think I need to opt for quality now. Thank you for the recommendations!
What I like about these is that they are reasonably priced and top quality. Give them a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how great you’ll look! – Babs
I so like the fact that you show us just exactly which foods have oodles of Vitamin C which proves we don’t necessarily have to take supplements. As an ardent fan of using what has been given to us in our diet, I heartily endorse your recommendations for foods containing Vitamin C and would hope that many reading your great review will finally see that they don’t have to spend huge amounts on supplements, but rather eat the recommended foods provided here.
What I did learn from your review, is the fact that Vitamin C helps to absorb iron. This is an eye opener. Thank you for sharing this information with us.

I take vitamin c from time to time, when I lay hold of it, but I didn’t realize the immense value of vitamin c to the body/health . This review has just taught me a lot. Henceforth when I take it, I will do it purposefully and meaningfully with the knowledge of what I’m gaining. Thanks for sharing this article.
Everybody all over the world want to look younger and not just look but remain young .
If there is anything that could fulfill this desire I’m sure the world would jump on it.Unfortunately the solution has always staring us in the face and it is called vitamin c .But I have a quick question; can there be an overdose of vitamin c especially when one takes them in their natural form from fruits and vegetables mentioned in the article above Thanks.
Always take what is prescribed on the bottle, and you won’t have too much from your diet. – Babs
Hi Babs,
Interesting article, I’ve always liked to make sure I get enough vitamin C in my diet as it helps increase testosterone production. I wasn’t quite aware just how beneficial it is for your skin. I already take vitamin C for the reasons I’ve mentioned, are there other supplements that you would recommend?
Oh yes indeed, and I am working on my research for them now. Please subscribe so you get notified when they are printed. – Babs
I loved that you didn’t only include suppliments but different fruits and vegetable makes this article so so valuable. Its also shows me how important is having my own background garden because all of these fruits and vegetables can be cultivated at home. Thank you so much for a great article, I have bookmarked your website and will use it as reference in the future.
I would like also to buy suppliments in the future, and will really consider your recommendations
That’s great. I’m so glad that you have found the information I have provided helpful. Wonderful! – Babs
This is just awesome because I’m for the past few months looking to use natural stuff to get my skin better. And knowing that instead of wasting money I can just intake Vitamin C rich foods which has tons of benefits to our skin and more parts of our body.

Hi Babs,
At the age of 55 I am always interested in anything that can help me maintain my youth.
My wife is always telling me to take vitamin C but I often don’t.
I actually had no idea that it helped the skin look younger, so I am very happy to hear that it does.
I know there are many benefits to vitamin C but this was a surprise.
My wife is correct after all and I will follow her advice without moaning now.
It’s actually easy to get hold of and also very low cost for something that has so many benefits.
As I begin a new healthy life campaign this week, this was a timely prompt in the right direction.
Thank you for taking the time to share you knowledge with me.
Tim
I have known about and used vitamin C for about five years now. I always stock up before winter season for my family and we take them religiously prior and during winter. We have had a little cold but not to the extreme sick in bed type of illness. I am more interested though, in the plums that you mentioned as this is the first time I heard of them?
After reading this I think we need to take Vitamin C all year long.
It seems we can always learn more about Vitamin C and the more recently studied products of nature that give us large quantities of this antioxidant.
I think taking supplements is a good thing for people on a fruit and vegetable restricted diet.
For those who are not, it is wonderful that there is such a large variety of foods one can put into meals and snacks.
I will always try a quality made cream or serum such as the one you describe.
This is a valuable article. Everyone likes to look younger. I impressed by the benefits that provide by vitamin C. I usually apply lemon on my face because I heard it’s the number one natural bleaching treatment but after reading your article I realised that there are other benefits as well.
The benefits of vitamin C is really numerous and can’t be overemphasised. There are so many health benefits of vitamin c and some people don’t really consume adequate vitamin C products except if they fell sick before they can take vitamins C in other to recover. No doubts, vitamin C can make one look younger.
Wow. Such an amazing article. I was aware of great benefits Vitamin C had for our immune system and our general health, but I could not even taught it had that good effects on our skin health. Rejuvenating your facial skin is always good, especially if it can be done naturally. Hydratation is also another really important thing when it comes to skin care and Vitamin C got that covered also.
Thank you. I learned so much.
Strahinja.
You are welcome! I’m so glad!! – Babs
I totally agree with your emphasis on what you put in your body being at least as important (if not more so) than what creams you use. Perhaps because I’m male I don’t use many beauty products, but I think diet does seem to affect how I look. (I’m 46 and I’m told I look younger.) I was not aware of how important Vitamin C was in keeping you looking younger. Thanks for that.
You’re very welcome! – Babs
Thanks for this interesting and educative article. Glad to know that vitamin C can help prevent wrinkles and give the young and youthful face we so desire.
Thank goodness I love in a place where there is abundance of fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C. I often take vitamin c rich fruits for granted. I want to develop the habit of including vitamin C in all my diets henceforth.
Hello, Thanks for sharing this wonderful article.I have read the whole review about this. This information is very important for us.Vitamin C is very beneficial for us. This is very good for skin and health. I eat vitamin C tablets. It removes many problems from our body.My girlfriend used vitamin c face pack.It is very useful for her face.It also removes dark spot from her face.your information is very helpful for us.Specially I like your article so much. Thanks for sharing this information information.I am waiting for your next post.
This is a really great informative article on vitamin c. Its true we need to eat more of it, I eat quite a few veg on the list, but probably need to eat a bit more. It is better to have a good diet in vitamin c for your skin and also use face creams. I eat coriander once a week which is good for its vitamin c and I love peppers. Vitamin c is vital and there are so many sugary foods out there today.
